My holidays on Santorini

While I was staying on Santorini, the most magical Greek island you can imagine, I literally woke up early in the morning every day because I didn’t want to miss a single sunrise. The light was soft and orange, while the wind was mildly blowing. In these moments I felt so related to the island and contentment filled my mind.

The white houses with blue doors and red flowers along the streets create an atmosphere that is so peaceful and innocent – seems to be like a place where you can truly leave all your sorrows behind and refocus on yourself.

The Red Beach is located about 11 kilometres south of Fira. Firstly you take the street towards Perissa and after 1,5 kilometres passing the village Magalochori you turn right in the direction of Akrotiri and Red Beach.

Visiting the Red Beach was fascinating because of the precipitous cliff. As you can see many visitors were attracted by this place and so the tiny bay was slightly overfilled. But the clear turquoise water compensated that and swimming here was an unbelievable experience. Just seeing all the colours of the ocean had a refreshing effect on me.

The village Oia, which is located in the North of Santorini, provides a wonderful panorama over the coast. It is unbelievable breathtaking how far you can see. The buildings are constructed very close to the crater’s edge and that makes the view even more overwhelming.

The highlight of a trip to Oia definitely is watching the sunset from a spot that allows you to observe the full panorama. I can promise, after experiencing such an amazing sunset, you will feel completely revitalized.
